Monthly basic wages refers to the basic pay before deduction of employee CPF contributions and personal income tax.  
It excludes employer  CPF contributions, bonuses, overtime  payments,  commissions, allowances, other monetary
payments and payments-in-kind.

Monthly gross wages refers to the sum of the basic wages, overtime payments, commissions, allowances, and
other regular cash payments before deduction of employee CPF contributions and personal income tax.  However, it
excludes employer CPF contributions, bonuses, stock options, other lump sum payments and payments-in-kind.

2008年什么事情都可能发生，半年拿PR不奇怪。2009年初还有人来了几天直接申请PR，然后1个多月后拿到的
